Ottawa Hills is a historic neighborhood that was established in 1922 in southeast Grand Rapids, MI. Ottawa Hills was initially planned as a residential area during the early 1900s from the then Grand Rapids Golf Club. The first batch of houses built in 1922 and homes were continued to be constructed up until the year 1950s. In 1970 the establishment of Ottawa Hills Neighborhood Association sets its goal in preserving the neighborhood’s wholly unique and comfortable features that prevent in declining many other local neighborhoods were facing. In the last 45 years, the neighborhood association has evolved and gathered sponsors to cater events, such as the annual garden tour, new neighbor party, ice cream social, neighborhood clean-up, and wide-neighborhood garage sales. Ottawa Hills has been the remarkable site of Michigan’s longest-running Independence Day parade that was sponsored by the association.
The greatness we see in this neighborhood will be nothing if it weren’t for the residents who are committed to working together for the common goal.

As the whole COVID-19 pandemic situation continues to unfold and the limitations of imposing guidelines for the health safety for everyone has been prioritized, it has been made decisions to cancel TGIF events and Block Parties until further notice. As much as the association loves everyone to enjoy and have a great time health and safety of everyone should still be the top priority.
