Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park

Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture opened in 1995 from a 13-year plan and fundraising by the West Michigan Horticulture Society. It is a 158-acre botanical garden, art museum, and outdoor sculpture park located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Meijer Gardens’ great commitment to create a legacy of inevitable learning, rich in a wonderful experience for more generations to come.

One of the country’s most significant sculpture and botanic experiences is by far Michigan’s largest tropical conservatory with five indoor theme gardens, nature trails, boardwalk, and sculpture galleries. Both indoor and outdoor exhibits are available in a 158-acre main campus.

In accordance with the government, masks are required for ages 2 and above in all indoor areas.

All admission tickets are purchased at the Daniel and Pamella Devos Ticketing Center in the Welcome Center.

Sculpture Collection and Exhibitions

Considered to be one of the 100 most-visited art museums worldwide, Meijer Gardens has evolved to become an international destination. The permanent collection focuses on works by renowned sculptors from the modern tradition to the present style. Three temporary exhibitions are also developed annually. These exhibitions are within the large indoor galleries.

Horticulture Exhibits

Meijer Tropical Conservatory fills up the five-story building of the Meijer Garden and it is the largest of its kind in Michigan. Waterfalls and streams splashdown as the lush vegetation winds around. Bismarck Palm which is a native plant of Madagascar, and the Orange Jessamin of Native America. Visitors will surely appreciate plants from tropical habitats all over the world. Cacao Trees, Pandan, Tropical Birds, and Orchid walls are some of the Meijer Garden’s highlights.
